Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A herd of elephants trampled three to death in Ladai Tangra village under Bhandra block in Lohardaga district this morning.
The deceased have been identified as Lalman Mahto (60), Neha Kumari (18) and Jhalo Oraon (27). The elephants are still in the village and the villagers are scared.
According to forest department officials, the elephants were upset after being separated from the herd, and any attempt to disturb them at this point could be risky.
Earlier on February 8, a wild elephant entered Hazaribagh town in the early hours of the morning, killing two and injuring two. The two killed have been identified as Damodar Saw and Dhaneshwar Sahu, while the two injured are Rinki Devi and Khushboo Kumari.
